Prayer Group

The Prayer Group, with a Visit from 247 Council of the Knights of St. Columba

The Prayer Group meets for a Holy Hour of Prayer on the first Saturday of each month from 11.30am (just after 11.00am Mass) until 12.30pm. It is what is known as a 'Padre Pio' Prayer Group. It takes it's inspiration from Padre (Father) Pio of Pietrelcina, a Roman Catholic Priest who followed the Franciscan Rule of Life, and who died on the 23rd September 1968. Padre Pio's example and teaching has inspired many people in their Christian Living. This Prayer Group here has some of it's own prayers at the start of the hour, but for the most part it is a time of silent reflection. It is a 'Holy Hour' that is open to all, not just Group Members.
